NEVILLE GODDARD – FEELING IS THE SECRET

When I found this book of Neville Goddard, I was amazed how his teachings and the teachings of Mr Keshe are complementary! I have lovingly edited the content of his book to fit our context – Plasma Science and to sound more fluid in today’s language. I feel that Neville Goddard’s teachings clarify very well the importance of feelings in the process of materialization and transmutation, Mr Keshe is talking about.

Chapter 1 – The Law of Attraction and Its Operation

We live in a Perceptional Universe. The world and everything within it is our consciousness manifested. Consciousness is the cause as well as the substance of the entire world.

That’s why we have to comprehend consciousness if we want to discover the secret of creation. Consciousness operates within the Law of Attraction. Understanding consciousness and how it works will enable us to accomplish all we desire in life; with it we can build and maintain an ideal world.

Consciousness is the one and only reality, not figuratively but actually. We could say that consciousness is the central, creative part within the mind. When the mind is like a computer, consciousness would be it’s operating system.

Consciousness can be personal and selective, but the mind is impersonal and non-selective – it doesn’t decide for us. Consciousness generates ideas and impresses them on the mind; the mind receives these ideas unconditionally to then manifest them on the matter level.

The mind is a receiver, it does not generate thoughts, but accepts as true those which we feel to be true in our consciousness and then makes them a tangible reality.

Therefore, through our power to imagine and feel and our freedom to choose the thoughts we want to entertain, we have control over creation. The control of the mind is accomplished through the control of our thoughts and feelings.

The mind works bi-directional: it projects out the physical reality that corresponds to who we are convinced we are. But it also receives the perceptions from the outside reality. In our current state of mind, we mainly use it’s perceptional function and neglect the projecting function. We can use this bi-directionality to create the world we want to live in. And we can use the perceptional function to observe the outside world and draw conclusions about the feelings inside of us that have created what we see.

The mind doesn’t really work through reason; but through feelings. It sees a feeling as self-existing and true; and on this assumption proceeds to manifest it. The creative process begins with a thought, which generates the matching feeling; which the mind takes to manifest reality.

Thoughts and ideas are impressed on the mind through the medium of feeling. No thought can be impressed on the mind until it is felt, but once felt — be it good, bad or indifferent — it must be manifested.

Therefore, as long as we do not control our feelings, we may easily impress the mind with undesirable states. Controlling feelings doesn’t mean to repress them, but it rather refers to the discipline to imagine and entertain only such feelings which contribute to our happiness.

To choose thoughts that make us feel good is all important to a full and happy life.

That’s why we shouldn’t entertain undesirable feelings, nor think sympathetically about wrong in any shape or form. We shouldn’t dwell on the imperfection of ourself or others. To do so, we impress the mind with these limitations.

What you do not want to be done to you, do not even imagine that it is done to you or another.

This is called the Golden Rule, which is a translation of the Universal Principle of Homeostasis: every micro-system is created and works for the Well Being of the macro-system. This is the whole law of a full and happy life. Everything else is commentary.

Every feeling makes a mental impression and, unless it is counteracted by a more powerful feeling of an opposite nature, must be expressed on the matter level.

Feelings come in different strengths. I am healthy” is a stronger feeling than “I will be healthy”. To feel ‘I will be’ is to confess ‘I am not’; so the feeling conveyed is of lack. Consequently the mind will create more events in my reality that reflect the lack.

What we feel we are always dominates what we feel we would like to be; therefore to be realized, the wish must be felt as a state that is rather than a state that is not. Our state is who we are right now, our identity – the I AM.

Think feelingly only of the state you desire to realize. Feeling the reality of the state you want and living and acting on that conviction is the way of all seeming miracles.

Change of thought Change of feeling Change of who I AM Change of reality.

All creation occurs in the domain of the mind. What we must acquire, then, is a reflective control of the operation of the mind; that is, controlling what thoughts and feelings we are impressing on the mind.

Chance or accident are never responsible for the things that happen to us, nor is predestined fate the author of our fortune or misfortune. Our mental impressions determine the conditions of your world. The mind is not concerned with the truth of our feeling. It is just an interface processing what we feed it with to create the world around us.

Because of this quality of the mind there is nothing impossible to us. Whatever we conceive and feel as true, the mind can and must objectify. The mind never fails to express that which has been impressed upon it. The mind never alters our accepted beliefs.

To impress the mind with the desirable state, have to assume the feeling that we live in the world we want to live in. We have to be emotionally in alignment with the happy end. The way how it will manifest or the difficulties involved are not our business. If we dwell on difficulties, barriers or delay, the mind accepts the feeling of difficulties as our request and proceeds to produce them in our outer world.

We drive the mind with our feelings. The mind emits a magnetic ray corresponding to our feeling into the Universal Network of Everything. In this network every element and event exists as an unlimited number of possibilities. Which possibility manifests depends on the ray of our mind:

“I create man and everything else in the image of myself”

The mind faithfully serves us because it is created and always acts for the well being of it’s macro-system which is us. That’s also the reason why coercion and force won’t work.

Being the interface between consciousness and the material world, the mind can be compared to a car with consciousness as the driver. As soon as we know how the car works, we would never have the idea to coerce it.

We are used to think and perceive that our feelings are provoked by the events in the outside world and it is difficult to admit that the conditions of the world come from our feelings. However, it is eternally true that the outside mirrors the inside.

As above, so below; as below, so above;
as within, so without; as without, so within.

Nothing comes from without; all things come from within – from our consciousness and the mind. Our world in its every detail is our consciousness materialized. And the process of translating our impressions into tangible reality is automatic.

Therefore we always are whom we believe to be. And we are already that which we want to be, and our refusal to believe this is the only reason we do not see it.

To seek on the outside for that which we do not feel – we search in vain, for we never find that which we want; we find only that which we are. In short, we express and have only that which we are conscious of being or possessing.

Denying the evidence of the senses and appropriating the feeling of the wish fulfilled is the way to the realization of our desire. Mastery in the control of our thoughts and feelings is our highest achievement.
